Editing & Proof Reading
Adrian has had a long and successful association with publishing. He has written five books dealing with butterflies, moths and birds and over 150 papers and articles relating to a wide range of entomological matters. As a professional entomologist at Rothamsted Research (the foremost agricultural research institute in the world) he and his colleagues had the highest standards to maintain and it was here where he learned the demanding arts of proof-reading and editing. Most of the manuscripts dealt with were highly technical, containing tables of figures, charts, graphs and a great deal of scientific terminology. He helped to proof-read 10 editions of his department's contribution to the Rothamsted Annual Report. By the end of his stay at Rothamsted (nearly 25 years) he had become something of an expert at dealing with such exacting work.

Between 1988 and 1990 Adrian was Assistant Editor for the international journal The Entomologist. During this work he often was required to deal with manuscripts written by authors from overseas whose mastery of English grammar was, without being unkind, less than perfect. A great deal of tact was sometimes called for!
Since leaving Rothamsted Adrian's skills have been in further demand. He has jointly edited several issues of the Norfolk Ornithologists' Association Annual Report and has played a major part in the editing of two books produced by Brambleby Books. He is currently Database Manager for the Norfolk Ornithologists' Association and here his editing skills are extremely useful in maintaining accuracy.
If you are an individual producing a book, report or other important document, or a publisher with a backlog of proof-reading, Adrian is the person you need. The home page of Enterprise io gives our contact details. Please feel free to get in touch and discuss how we can help.
